
Wofford Rogers, Sr was born in Camden, he was the son of the late Alexander McClain Rogers and Olivia Hinson Rogers.
Wofford Rogers, Sr., 88, of Camden, husband of the late Janet Catoe Rogers, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020.
He served in the United States Army and retired from the South Carolina National Guard. He was the former owner of Jan’s Casuals and W & J Sales and Lawn Mower Repair. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, camping, hunting, fishing and yard selling. Mr. Rogers was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church. Mr. Rogers was a faithful husband, and devoted father who loved spending time with his family.
Surviving were his children, Wofford Rogers Jr. of Bishopville, Wanda Campbell (Jeff) of Lugoff, Patty Rogers (Jimmy) of Bishopville, Sandra Cobb (Terry) of Camden and Glenda Trotter of Camden; brother, Levern Rogers; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by brothers, Roy Rogers, Raphu Rogers, Alvin Rogers, Lockee Rogers; sisters, Catherine Goodson, Rosine Davis, Alverta Catoe; and one granddaughter, Dawn Rogers Davis.
A service to celebrate the life of Wofford Rogers, Sr., was held Friday, March 6, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Hermitage Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Jamie Rogers and the Rev. Mark Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Hermitage Baptist Church Legacy of Faith.
