Obituary of Lois Spradley Peake

ELGIN – Funeral service for Lois Elaine Spradley Peake, 88, will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Mrs. Peake, wife of the late Leroy Peake, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Spradley and Clara Lovett Spradley. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time spent with grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Clara Rose (Lawrence of Elgin, Michael Gene Peake (Vicky) of Elgin, Virgie Brazell (Lonnie) of Elgin, Sara Hunter (Ronald) of Cassatt, and Gwen LeGrande (Frank) of Kershaw; brothers, Clyde Spradley and David Spradley; sisters, Leatha Watts and Donna Blanchard; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Alfred Lee “Butch” Peake, Jackie Thomas Peake and Richard Roy Peake; brother, Norman Spradley; sisters, Eva Branham, Lillie Sharpe, Louise Poff and Jeannie Martin; and step-mother, Evelyn Hatfield Spradley.
