Dennis Malcolm Heath, 52, of Elgin, died Saturday, December 17, 2016. 

Mr. Heath graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School where he was a star football player for JV and Varsity, and won a conference championship. He went on to attend both Winthrop University and USC. He enjoyed photography, landscaping, reading and was a history buff.

Surviving were his mother, Rebecca Peake; sisters, Kim Stokes (Randy) of Lugoff, Misty Garcia of Elgin; nephews, Harrison Garcia, Heath Stokes; niece, Hayden Stokes; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmie Hanf officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to L-E High School Athletics or the Kershaw County Historical Society.
