David Lynn Watkins was born April 20, 1949 in Columbia, SC, the son of Mr. and Mrs. KS Mitchum and grandmother, Stella Mae Sowell Watts.
David Lynn Watkins, 67, of Camden, SC, died Sunday, November 27, 2016.
Lynn was a US Army veteran. When he returned from Vietnam, Lynn was a member of the honor guard team here in SC. He retired from DuPont after 30 years of service.
Lynn was survived by his children, Cher Bowers (John) of Camden, Brooke Templar (Tom) of Camden, David Watkins (Amy) of Camden and Jazmine Watkins of Camden; 7 grandchildren; and brothers, Bill Watkins (Jenny) of McBee and Dale Watkins (Linda).
Lynn was predeceased by his sister, Harp Blackwell
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Steve Lee officiated. The family received friends from 12:30-1:30, prior to the service at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
