Obituary of Carrie Belle Goff
ELGIN – Graveside service for Carrie Belle Medlin “Granny” Goff, 89, will be held Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Dan Griffin and the Rev. Chris Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church.
Mrs. Goff, wife of the late Wade Edward Goff Sr., went home to be with her Lord and her husband, Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Born on August 18, 1923 in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late James Medlin and Hattie Jacobs Medlin. She was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She retired from Bendix Corporation.
Surviving are her daughters, Juanita Hoglen of Columbia, Lucille Smith of Cayce, and Betty Stockman (Richard) of Elgin; son, Avery E. Goff (Irene) of Elgin; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sons, James Goff and Wade Edward Goff, Jr.; sisters, Minnie Belle Goodlet, Pearle Davis, Jesse Smith, Susie Mae Ellisor, and Ada Hammond; brothers, Eddie Medlin, Manning Medlin, Eugene Medlin, and Eric Medlin; and a great-granddaughter, Teresa Cook.
