Camden Equestrian Center Fall Fling: If you haven’t been to a horse show this year, now’s your chance. This event features a $10,000 level six mini prix that attracts people from the entire region. The show also will feature the 2006 Governor’s Cup Medal Finals for the South Carolina Hunter Jumper Association.

Kershaw County Fire Fest: This year’s event includes a parade down Broad Street to the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site. Carolina Downhome Blues Festival: The eighth annual festival pairs different artists with different venues around Camden. Revolutionary War Field Days: Some 500 Revolutionary War re-enactors pitch camp at Historic Camden for a weekend of colonial activities.

Blue Jeans, Bluegrass, BBQ and Oysters: The official kickoff of the Colonial Cup event includes music, food and good casual fun at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County.

* The details: 6 p.m. Nov. 17. Tickets are $20 for adults, $6 for children younger than 15. Tickets include BBQ and all the fixings, steamed oysters, Bluegrass music of High Lonesome Band and cash bars.

Colonial Cup Steeplechase Races: The 37th annual Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup is the grand finale of the steeplechase circuit and decides all national titles, including horse of the year.

Elgin Catfish Stomp: Annual, pre-Christmas festival features a parade, children’s activities, gospel singing and catfish stew. The Blaney Fire Department and local volunteer firefighters serve up catfish stew, fried catfish and all the fixings.

Candlelight Tour of Homes: The Camden Junior Welfare League’s 30th Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes begins during the afternoon and continues into the evening, where patrons can experience Camden’s historic district by candlelight.
