According to the 1910 United States Census recorded on April 19, 1910, Earl H Bowen (39) owned a farm in Wateree Township, Kershaw County, South Carolina, with whom he shared with his wife of 13 years, Annie L Bowen (36). She reported that she was the mother of 4 children all of which were still living. Also in home were their children; Talmadge E Bowen (12), Caroll Bowen (11), Christine Bowen (10) and Mildred Bowen (4). It was reported at all family members were born in South Carolina. Earl H Bowen’s occupation was a farmer on a general farm.
On September 22, 1929, Mildred Bowen was listed in the newspaper article “Blaney.”
1940 Census Information:
Head of household, Mildred Bowen Zorn (34), daughter, Beverly Zorn Livingston (9), son David Zorn, Jr (5), daughter, Harriett Ann Zorn (3) and Lodger, John David Bailey (56) owned a house valued at $500.00. It was reported at all family members were born in South Carolina.
Mildred Bowen Zorn was a merchant of a retail variety store, Beverly Zorn attended school, while David Zorn and Harriett Ann Zorn were to young to attend school, John David Bailey was a merchant of Farm supplies.
On September 27, 1976, Mrs. Mildred Zorn was listed as a living sister in the obituary of Earl Talmadge Bowen.
On August 18, 1999, Ann Mildred Zorn was listed as the living mother in the obituary of David Zorn, Jr.
Mildred B Bowen Zorn, 94, passed away on December 8, 2000. Burial was in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.
