Herbert A Goff was born February 5, 1916, son of  John Arthur Goff and Ruth Emmaline Ross Goff.

On July 8, 1939, H. A. Goff was listed as a living brother in the obituary of Laverne Singleton Goff

1961

On August 19, 1961, H. A. Goff was listed as a living step-son in the obituary of Charlotte Ross Goff.

1966

Funeral services for Herbert A. Goff, 50, of Ashton Rd., Columbia, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 1966 in Harrison Road Baptist Church by the pastor, the Rev. Joe W. West, and the Rev. W. L. Bagwell. Interment will be in Blaney Baptist Church Cemetery in Elgin with military honors.

Active pallbearers will be six nephews.

Mr. Goff, a veteran of World War II, died Friday, August 5, 1966, at his home. He had lived in Columbia all his life.

Surviving are his widow, Ocie Patterson Goff; two sisters, Mrs. Nonie Ruth Butler of Columbia and Mrs. Mary Campbell of Elgin; a half-sister, Mrs. Nancy Drust of Aiken; a brother, E. C. Goff of Florence and two half-brother, B. R. Goff and Tommy Goff of Columbia.
