Eight Men Forfeit Bonds in Gaming Case

Columbia police raided a Main Street club early this morning taking eight white men into custody and charging them with illegal gaming.

All forfeited bond. Police Lt. H. T. Snipes said he and officer C. F. Cook moved in on the Greek Club, 1327 1/2 Main St., about 2:30 a.m. seizing the eight men and found $19 of a fresh bet lying on the faming table in the club room.

Carl Jolly, 48, forfeited $100 bond on a charge of operating a gaming house.

Seven other men forfeited $25,50 each for gaming. They were Moses Baker, 70, Johnny Siokos, 37, Rodney Hornsby, 23, James Cooper, 35, Peter J. Apera, 57, Jessie Norris, 32, and Fletcher Williams, 34.
