Funeral services For Lewis A Watts, 81, were to be conducted today at 4:30 p.m., at the Highway Pentecostal Holiness church and burial was to be in the church cemetery.
He was born in West Wateree, Kershaw county, the son of the late George Watts and Caroline Branham Watts. He lived at Blaney for a number of years where he was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness church, near Blaney.
His wife, Elizabeth Branham Watts, died four years ago.
He is survived by nine children, Mrs. Jeannie Rabon of Winnsboro, Mrs. Lillian Bradley of Blaney, Mrs. Lois Moore of Columbia, Albert Watts, Manis Watts, Hubert Watts, Rufus Watts, Arthur Watts all of Columbia and Dupre Watts of Blaney; one sister, Mrs. Cecilia Dowey of Lugoff; 38 grandchildren of who the following are in the armed services, W. H Coker, USN, at sea; Murdock D Watts of Alaska, Rufus Watts of Japan, Hubert Watts of Fort Dix, N. J., Maxie Brown of Japan, Curtis Brown of Camp Gordon, Ga., Thomas L. Rabon of Ft. Jackson; Carl Rufus Watts, a teacher at Hemingway, and 30 great-grandchildren.
Lewis A. Watts of Columbia Dies
Lewis A Watts, 81, of 715 Maryland street, died at 8:20 am yesterday morning at Lakeside rest home in Lexington after a serious illness of three weeks.
He was born in West Wateree, Kershaw county, the son of the late George Watts and Caroline Branham Watts. He lived at Blaney for a number of years were he was engaged in farming. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness church, near Blaney.
His wife, Elizabeth Branham Watts, died four years before ago.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 Monday afternoon, from Highway Pentecostal Holiness church conducted by the Rev. C. H. Culclasure, the Rev. C. B. Bigsby, the Rev. Leo Edwards and the Rev. Floyd Helms. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Six nephew will serve as active pallbearers, they are; Murdic Bowen, Nick Watts, George Watts, Ernest Dowey, Alex Dowey and Milton Dowey.
Honorary pallbearers are: John Goff, Marion Coker, Ira Goff, Gary Goff, David Brazell, Alton Nelson, Jack Bailey, Talmadge Bowen, Logan Nelson, Walter Miles, B. K. Rose, L. P. Rose, Paul Rose, Leslie Moak, Lexie Moak, Anderson Goff, and Ed Campbell.
Active and honorary pallbearers were requested to meet at the church at 4:25. The body was at the home, 715 Maryland street after 10 o’clock this morning, until the hour of services.
