Leslie Moak (30) lived in Kershaw, South Carolina, with his wife, Kate Moak (30), and children; Jasper Moak (10), Ruth Moak (8), Andrew Moak (4), and Nellie Moak(2) also in the home was Tallie Goff(40) a hired hand. The family owned a farm house with a reported value of $600.00. Leslie farmed and Kate kept house. Jasper and Ruth attended school. Andrew and Nellie were too young to attend school and were kept at home.
