Few if any motorist have made the run from Camden to Columbia in shorter time than did Messrs. John W. Conder and James A Hoyt Sunday, when, in returning from a trip to Bishopville, Darlington and Timmonsville, they covered the distance in 1 1-2 hours.
Traveling in a Buick roadster, Messrs. Conder and Hoyt left Bishopville at 10:10 a. m. and reached Camden at 11:40 a. m. After ten minutes in Camden they set out for Columbia. By 12:10 p.m they had crossed the Wateree on the ferry. They reached Columbia at 1:20.
The road from Camden to Columbia is superb all the way now, except for a very short stretch within the town of Blaney. This stretch the Kershaw county authorities have not improved because it lies with in an incorporated town.
