Funeral services for William Whetstone Wannamaker, IV, 68, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at “The Pond”, 661 Pate Road, Camden, SC. Burial to follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 1553 Old Stagecoach Road, Camden, SC. Rev. Pickett Wall will officiate. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church Endowment, 1315 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.
William died Sunday, April 4, 2021, son of the late William W. Wannamaker, III and Betty Ray Davis. He was a lifetime member and faithful supporter of Grace Episcopal Church. William was a longtime member of Camden Country Club, who loved to play golf, play cards, and would love to ride around, shop and visit everyone.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Jo Marie Patterson Wannamaker; daughter, Pate W. Neal (Richie), of Simpsonville, SC; 2 grandchildren, Sarah Neal and Tripp Neal; sisters, Ray Sabalis (Bob), of Orangeburg, SC, Harriet Gettys (Jim), of Edisto Island, SC, Amelia Powers (Steve), of Cartersville, GA, Sarah Karpie (Marty), of Franklin, TN, Mary Hendrix, of Camden, SC; a brother, Preston Wannamaker (Yvette), of Columbia, SC; brother-in-law, Bill Patterson, of Camden, SC and numerous nieces and nephews; his dogs and “little friends”.
William was predeceased by his parents and his in-laws, Ted and Dot Patterson.
