Shirley Ragsdale Camp was born April 13, 1929 in Macon, Ga, the daughter of Thomas Baxter Ragsdale and Bertha Willingham Ragsdale.

According to the United States census reported on April 24, 1940, Thomas B Ragsdale Jr (35) rented a home in Augusta, Richmond, Georgia, with his wife, Bertha W. Ragsdale (32) and their children; Shirley A Ragsdale (11) and Bertha J Ragsdale (7). It was reported that all family members were born in Georgia and lived in Dublin, Laurens, Georgia on April 1, 1935. Thomas B Ragsdale Jr was a manager of sewing machines and Bertha W. Ragsdale was a clerk with the telephone company.
Shirley Ragsdale Camp, 91, of Camden, died Monday, December 28, 2020. Born April 13, 1929 in Macon, Ga, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Baxter Ragsdale and Bertha Willingham Ragsdale.
Shirley graduated from Tubman High School in Augusta, GA as valedictorian and the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She married her high school sweetheart, the now late Isaac Sewell “Ike” Camp. They were married for 60 years.
At one time, she was a national accredited flower show judge and later turned to painting in oil and watercolor. Shirley was a member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church since 1966, where she had been a Sunday School teacher and a circle leader. She was a member of the beloved Friendship Sunday School Class.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Martha Boykin and her husband, Tony; son, Thomas Sewell Camp and his wife, Dee Kornegay Camp; grandchildren, Bett Boykin Carrington and her husband, Jac; John Corbett Boykin, III and his wife, Jennifer; Saluda Kornegay Camp; Anna Ragsdale Camp; and great grandchildren, Jac Carrington, Davis Carrington and Parks Carrington, and Ann Ellis Boykin and McRae Boykin.
