1930 Census Information:

According to the United States census reported on May 2, 1930, Edmond Hornsby (20) rented a home in Wateree, Kershaw County, South Carolina with his wife, Sadie Hornsby (19). It was reported that he was first married at the age of 17 and she was 16. Also in the home was their daughter, Willie M Hornsby (1). All family members were born in South Carolina. Edmond Hornsby was a farmer on a general farm.

1940 Census Information:

According to the United States census reported on April 6, 1940, Edward Harnsby (28) rented a home in Wateree Township, Kershaw County, South Carolina with his wife, Sadie Harnsby (28), and children; Willie Mae Harnsby (11) and W F Harnsby (5). All family members were born in South Carolina and lived in the same house on April 1, 1935. Edward Harnsby was a farmer on a general farm.

COLUMBIA – A graveside service for Willie Mae Hooks, 92, will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The Rev. Lee Porter will officiate.

Mrs. Hooks passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020. Born in Blaney, she was a daughter of the late Edmond Hornsby and Sadie Hornsby. Mrs. Hooks was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed cooking and shopping.

Surviving are her Husband of 65 years, Wiley Thomas “Tommy” Hooks; and a daughter, Karen Armstead (Ron) of Elgin.
