A graveside service to celebrate the life of Marion Edward Price, 92, of Camden, will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Rev. David Weaver will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Kershaw Center, PO Box 310 Camden, SC 29020.
Marion died on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Born in Ninety Six, SC, he was the son of the late Edward Judson Price and Irene Lilian Boozer Price. Marion was an Eagle Scout, and worked in the mill to save money for college. He graduated from Clemson with a degree in textile engineering. A member of the US Air Force, he served two years in Korea, and upon coming home he married his wife of sixty-five years, Ina Ruth Taylor. Marion was active in the community, serving as an usher at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, coaching the Graham Tire girls’ softball team for years, and was instrumental in starting ARC, the Association for Retarded Citizens. He later helped draw up the charter and served on the board.
He is survived by his wife, and his children, Donald E. Price and Dara Elaine Price, all of Camden.
In addition to his parents, Marion was predeceased by his brother, Cecil Price.
