According to the US Census recorded on April 13, 1940, Irving Blackburn (37) rented a home in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Also in the home was his wife, Rachel Blackburn (37) and their children; Gwendlyn Blackburn (14), Nyles Blackburn (11) and Stanley Blackburn (9). It was reported that all of the family members were born in Massachusetts, except for Rachel Blackburn who was born in New Hampshire. The family also reported having lived in the same house on April 1, 1935. Irving Blackburn was a sales manager in retail.

Mr. Blackburn passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020. Born in Woburn, MA, he was the son of the late William Irving Blackburn and Rachal Neal Blackburn. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He owned Knowlton Iron Works and Nashoba Valley Structural and retired in 1990.
Mr. Blackburn was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He had his pilot’s license and was a boat captain. He was a member of Quiet Birds, NAAMM and the Golden Club.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Lois Elisabeth Bridgens Blackburn; sons, Scott Blackburn of Pepperell, MA and Mark Blackburn of Nashua, NH; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a brother, Niles Blackburn; and sister, Gwendolyn Banwell.
