Nettie Bunch Bowers was born October 5, 1923 in Moncks Corner, the daughter of Ludy William Bunch and Anna Victoria Fort Bunch.

1930

According to the 1930 United States Census recorded on April 10, 1930; Ludie W Bunch (42), rented a farm in ED 13, Second Saint James Goose Creek in Berkeley County, with whom he shared with his wife, Victoria Bunch (36), of 14 years. Also in home were their children; Massey W Bunch (15), Sammie E Bunch (13), Dewett G Bunch (10), and Nettie Bunch (6). All of the household members were reported to have been born in South Carolina. Ludie was a farm manager on a Truck farm.

1940

According to the 1940 United States Census recorded on April 18, 1940; Luddie W. Bunch (53), rented a home in St. Johns Township in Berkeley, with whom he shared with his wife, Victoria Bunch (49), Also in home were their children; Dewitt Bunch (20) and Nettie Bunch (17). All of the household members were reported to have been born in South Carolina and resided in the same home on April 1, 1935. Luddie was a manager of a Plantation.

1947

On October 18, 1947, Mrs. Nettie Bowers was listed as a living daughter in the obituary of Mrs. Vick Bunch.

1974

On October 7, 1974, Mrs. Nettie Bunch Bowers was listed as the living wife in the obituary of James Oscar Bowers.

2020

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Nettie Bunch Bowers, 96, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Blaney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jacob Helsley will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Bowers, wife of the late James O. Bowers Sr., passed away at Prisma Health Richland on Tuesday, September, 1, 2020. Born October 5, 1923 in Moncks Corner, she was the daughter of the late Ludy William Bunch and Anna Victoria Fort (Bunch). She retired from BF Goodrich and was a lifelong member of Blaney Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and quilting. She was a proud mother and grandmother who cherished her family.

Surviving are sons, Jimmy Bowers (Georgia Bowers) of Elgin and Jacky Bowers (Karen Bowers) of Lugoff; daughter-in-law, Jan Haynes; grandchildren, Sammy Bowers (Vonda Bowers), Mary Helen Bowers, Jamie McNeely (J.D. McNeely), Melissa Boykin (Robbie Boykin), Vanessa Stroud (Michael Stroud), Pamela Riddle, Michael Haynes, Ashley Haynes; great-grandchildren, Brandon Bowers, Jase Bowers, Dillon Rabon, Bryce Rabon, Rance Rabon, Gage Ayscue, Grey Youngkin, Bryant Priester, Hannah Boykin, Marcus Boykin, Zoey Branham, Natasha Branham, and J.P. McNeeley; an lifelong friends, Rosa Kelly and Blease Kelly.

She was predeceased by a son, David Lee Haynes, sister, Sanie Duncan; and brothers, Massey Bunch, Dwight Bunch and Buster Bunch.
