John Ronald McLean, 78, died Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late James McLean and Cecelia (Eastman) McLean.
John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jody Sarafin McLean, his brother Michael (Lynda) of Matawan, NJ, nephews Raymond Keogh, James McLean and nieces Catherine McLean, Erin McLean & Maureen McLean. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy and brother James.
John served in the US Army with one deployment to Vietnam. Upon returning home, he attended Rutgers University on the GI bill. With his accounting degree, he worked in the banking field with numerous financial institutions. He was most proud of being an officer at Morgan Guaranty Trust on Wall Street. John was a CPA in the state of NJ.
John was an avid runner, a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and Camden Country Club. John’s greatest pleasure in life was time with his cats. He believed “you can never have too many,” and every stray cat found a home with John.
After battling dementia for many years, John contracted Covid-19. In light of the current epidemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Camden, SC or any charity of your choice.
