Willie attended the public schools of Kershaw County, South Carolina. He was diligent and hard worker who embodied the southern characteristics of being, a honest, family oriented and God-fearing. He was a good man who was loved by everyone.

With more experience and tenacity, Willie developed long lasting roots in Brooklyn, New York. He worked for the New York City Department of Education as an environmental technician for over twenty-five until retirement.
He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior under the tutelage of Bishop Clarence Louis Sexton at Mt. Sinai Cathedral COGIC. Willie and his family relocated back to Lugoff, SC, where he and his family joined Saint Mark COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Shelly Hardy, Jr. He served faithfully as a Deacon and as Chairman of the Trustees.
