Kathy L. Portee was born on August 11, 1967 in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Portee Sr. and Helen Hampton Portee.

Kathy L. Portee, 52, of Bethune, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland.

She was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. She enjoyed consignment shopping, flowers, raising fish in her fish ponds, and most of all spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters, Brittani Smith (Jason) of Cassatt and Ladeena Oliver of Cassatt; sisters, Dorothy Taylor, Martha Cassell, Bessie Reynolds, Gerena Brown and Marie McCormick; brothers, Clarence Hampton and Greg Portee; grandchildren, Samya Smith, Anya Oliver, Ryleigh Smith, Caden Smith and Heavenly Oliver; special sisters, Michelle King, Barbara Carter; special brothers, Charles Bennett and Michael Carter; special friend, Kathleen Ransom; and fiancé, Andrew Williams.

She was predeceased by brothers, Thomas Portee Jr. and Stanley Portee; and a granddaughter, A’-ja Oliver.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Hyco Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gates Philanthropy Partners to find a cure for COVIDE 19, PO Box 23350, Seattle, WA 98102.
