Marshall Legrand Young was born October 11, 1933 in Effingham, he was the son of the late Julius Edward Young and Edith Mae Harrell Young.

Mr. Young passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020.

He served in the Army National Guard. He was a faithful member of Hermitage Baptist Church. Mr. Young enjoyed wood working and fishing.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Janie Mae Crowley Young; daughter, Sheila Foster (Lee) of Lexington; grandchildren, Madison Foster Thomason, Grace Foster Hoyt and Rhynne Young Owens; 4 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Luanne Young.

He was predeceased by son, AL Young; brothers, John Young, George Young, L. J. Young, J.E. Young, Clarence Edward Young; and sisters, Renetta Hutchinson, Elma Lee Hummell, Bessie Mae Jones and Lucille Medlin.

A private graveside service was held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A public memorial service will be held at a later date at Hermitage Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hermitage Baptist Church Family Life Center.
