Glenn Lee “Buster” Napper of Elgin, South Carolina | 1947 – 2020

Glenn Lee “Buster” Napper was born July 6, 1947, in Camden, SC, he was the son of L. D. Napper  and Bertha Napper.

Glenn Lee “Buster” Napper, 72, of Elgin, SC, died Tuesday, April 14, 2020.  Buster grew up in Camden and joined the Navy where he served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He retired from Hardwick Chemical. Buster enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and was a Nascar fan.

He was survived by his loving wife, Helen Delores (Dee) Napper of Elgin; a daughter, Cathryn L. Locke (Bobby) of Kings Mountain, NC; and grandchildren, Hannah Locke of Houston, TX, and Robert Locke of Clemson, SC. He is also survived by his special nephew, Layne Dowey (Ashleigh) and grandnephews, Aston, Connor, and Kirk of Elgin, SC; sisters, Phyllis Branham (Billy) of Camden, SC, Pat Spradley (Curt) of Lugoff, SC, and Pam Cary (David) of Lugoff, SC; and brothers in-law, Frankie Dowey, Steve Dowey (Vivian), Terry (Jackie) Dowey, and Arnold Dowey.

Buster was predeceased by his parents, L. D. Napper and Bertha Napper, and brothers, David Napper, and Stephen (Buddy) Napper.

A memorial service was held at a later date. The family is asking in lieu of flowers to please make donations to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillion Drive Spartanburg, SC 29037 or Veterans Memorial Fund, 1235 South Clark Street Suite 910 Arlington, VA 22202.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

On October 4, 2021, Glenn Napper was listed as the deceased brother-in-law in the obituary of Jackie Stephen Dowey.
