2020

Joe Hornsby, Jr., 80, of Lugoff, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020. Mr. Hornsby retired from SCE&G and was a member of Springvale Baptist Church. He enjoyed golf, fishing and woodworking.

Surviving were his wife, Mildred Branham Hornsby; son, Joseph A. “Joey” Hornsby (Valencia); 2 grandchildren, Abby Hornsby and Alex Hornsby (Sam); 3 step-grandchildren; and 4 step great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings Mary Ruth Watts, W.L. Hornsby, Paul Hornsby Sylvia Smith and Michael Hornsby; and his dogs, Tiny and Sam.

The family extends a special thanks to Heart of Hospice and Watercrest Community for their loving care given to Joe during his illness.

Graveside service were held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in Springvale Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Thiel Meyer Animal Adoption Center.

On March 18, 2022, Joe Hornsby, Jr. was mentioned as the deceased husband in the obituary of Mildred Hornsby.
