Elsie Meryle Webster Stropes was born February 16, 1934 in Cooperstown, N.Y., she was the daughter of Leo Webster and Edith North Webster.

Elsie Meryle Webster Stropes, 86, of Cassatt, wife of the late Willis Riggs “Bill” Stropes, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020.

She enjoyed reading.

Surviving were her son, Kirk W. Stropes (Beverly) of Cassatt; grandchildren, Kyle Matthew Stropes (Katy) and Jeremy Michael Stropes, all of Lugoff; great-granddaughter, Ensley Marie Stropes of Lugoff; and brothers, Ronald Webster (Catherine) of Maryland, N.Y. and Richard Webster of Morris, N.Y.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Elsie Meryle Webster Stropes, was buried in plot C7 – C-22 in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, in Columbia, Richland, South Carolina.
