James Lyn Miller was born August 29, 1948 in Raleigh, N.C., he was the son of Colmore Miller, Jr. and Mamie R. White Miller.

James Lyn Miller, 71, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020.

He retired from the United States Air Force and the Kershaw County Sheriff Department. He enjoyed animals.

Surviving was his wife, Teresa Lee Newman Miller; children, Marcus Miller, Charles Dewey Threatt III (Brandi Shirey), Tony Allen Threatt, Courtney Elizabeth Miller (Brandon Marmolejo), and Cassandra Lee Pierce; sisters, Valerie Jenkins and Rosie McClain (Steve); and 8 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sister, Eulalia Welch (Darrell).

Funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family received friends Tuesday, March 3, 2020 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to KershawHealth Hospice.
