John 15:11  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

It is with profound sympathy that we announce the passing of Mrs. Linda M. Bennett of 1912 Lovett Rd, Camden.  Mrs. Bennett entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Linda M. Bennett, affectionately known to many as “Peaches” was born December 24, 1938 to the late Carl H. Aiken and Flonnie Blackmon.

Linda received her education in the public schools of Kershaw County in Bethune.  She later moved to New York after high school and resided there for over 15 years.  She then moved back to the South where she devoted herself as an educator at Camden Middle School for 26 years.

She was a strong believer in Christ and joined Union Baptist Church with her late husband, Joseph Bennett.  Before joining Union, she was a faithful member of her home church, Sandy Level Baptist Church in Bethune, South Carolina.  At Union she was a divine leader who stepped in and orchestrated the Praise Dance Team for over 10 years.  She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.  Being a part of the Gospel Choir and Senior Choir at Union Baptist Church gave her the freedom to do so.  Linda was also a strong member of the BHN Singers.  Everyone loved her singing.  Not only did she play a huge role for the praise dance team and choirs, she also devoted her time to Christ as a Sunday School teacher.

She was preceded in death by her late husband: Joseph Bennett; her son: Monty Bennett; and a brother: Martin Lerol Aiken.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories a beautiful daughter: Cynthia D. Bennett of Columbia, SC; a godson: Terence R. (Collett) Bennett of Cassatt, SC; three goddaughters: Stephanie Dyers of Camden, SC, Carmen Taylor, and Tiffany Portee both of Rembert, SC; two brothers: Carl Douglas Aiken and Thomas Leslie Aiken both of New Jersey; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Union Baptist Church in Rembert.  The body will be placed in the church for viewing one hour prior to the service.  Public viewing will take place from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Family and friends may call or visit at the residence beginning Saturday, January, 25, 2020.
