Obituary of Mary E. Basham

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Basham, 77, will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The Rev. Gene Stokes will officiate.  The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

   Mrs. Basham, wife of the late Douglas Basham, passed away at KershawHealth on Monday, September 10, 2018.  Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Buck Brannon and Lula Brannon.  She retired from DuPont and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

    Surviving are her sons, Douglas Matthew “Doug” Basham II (Beth) of Lugoff and Barry Ian Basham of Camden; brothers, Robin Brannon (Linda) and Eddie Brannon; grandchildren, Brandon Basham, Matthew Basham and Rebecca Dorris; and 9 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by sister, Shirley Barnes; and brother, Burnette Brannon.
