ELGIN – Funeral services for Lloyd Montgomery Nelson, 83, will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Timothy McIver will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Abbey Road Hospice.

Mr. Nelson, husband of the late Dorothy Elizabeth Nelson, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Logan Nelson and Bernice Jeffers Nelson. He retired from Goff Feed and Seed and was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his stepdaughters, Marie Mays of Camden, Debra Galloway (Russ) of Camden, Linda Young (Joe) of Camden; brother, Lindsey Nelson; sister, Ernestine Rabon; 6 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ian Nelson; sisters, Mae Nelson, Edith Horton and Bertha Goff; and brothers, Lonnie Nelson and Lehman Nelson.

The family extends a special thanks to Abbey Road Hospice especially Greg Kyle his nurse, the nurses at Palmetto Health Richland ICU and Dr. Malloy for their loving care.
