Mrs. Smith, the wife of the late Lannis Smith, Sr., passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. Born in Winnsboro, she was a daughter of the late James Kelly and Helen Branham Kelly. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ridgeway Ward. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Surviving are her daughters, Selena Smith and Tonya Smith both of Lugoff; sisters, Laura Brazell, Dorothy Branham (Grady), Barbara Hill (Billy) Gloria Branham (Lonnie); grandchildren, Rusty Cooper, Jacob Shealy; and a great-grandchild, Caiden Hemphill. She was predeceased by a son, Lannis Smith, Jr., sisters, Reola “Tiny” Reynolds, Hilda McDaniel; a brother, Rudy Kelly; and a granddaughter, Misty Michelle Smith.

On October 23, 2021, Sylvia Smith was listed as the deceased sister in the obituary of Laura Naomi Brazell.
