According to the US Census reported on April 15, 1930, Lowney Gladden (27) rented a home on Great Falls Chester Road, in Rossville, Chester, South Carolina. Also in the home was his wife Minnie L. Gladden (25). They reported having been married when he was 21 and she was 19. Also in the home where their children, Kenneth Gladden (4), Vera L Gladden (3) and Roland Gladden (3). All family members reported have been born in South Carolina. Lowney Gladden was a mechanic at an automobile shop, Minnie L. Gladden keep house and watched over the children.
1940 Census Information:
According to the US Census reported on April 6, 1940, William Gladden (36) Rented a home on Chestnut Street, in Hyatt Park, Richland County, South Carolina. Also in the home was his wife Minnie Gladden (35), and their children; Kenneth Gladden (14), Vera B Gladden (12), John Gladden (11), William Gladden (9), Osborn Gladden (7) and Loretta Gladden (1). All family members reported have been born in South Carolina and all family members, except for Loretta who was not born yet, reported as having living in rural, Chester County, South Carolina on April 1, 1935. William Gladden was an automobile mechanic at an auto garage, Minnie L. Gladden keep house and watched over the little children.

COLUMBIA – Mrs. Vera Lee Gladden Branham, 90, died Friday, January 27, 2017. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017, in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens.
Born in Great Falls, she was a daughter of the late William Lonnie Gladden and Minnie Leila McWatters Gladden. She retired as a seamstress with J.B. White Department Store. A longtime member of Maple Street Southern Methodist Church, she attended Rosewood Baptist Church where she was active with Sunday School and Young at Heart.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Coker (Heyward Coker) of Columbia; son, Rocky Branham (Lynne Branham) of Chapin; brothers, Kenneth Gladden of Myrtle Beach, W.L. Gladden (Vera Gladden) of Elgin; sister, Loretta Joyner (Donald Joyner) of Columbia; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, L. Dale Branham; son, Timothy Dale Branham; and brothers, Osborne Gladden and Jack Gladden.
