Gladys Dunn Payne was born September 06, 1931in Cleveland, TN, the daughter of the late Fred Calvin Dunn and Gertrude Officer Dunn.

Gladys Dunn Payne, 85, of Elgin, SC wife of 60 years to the late Junior L. “Buck” Payne, died Wednesday, December 28, 2016.  Gladys attended Highway Pentecostal Church.

Gladys was survived by her son, Larry Payne, Sr. (Frances) of Blythewood; daughters, Mary Ann Young (Ronny) of Hopkins and Sherry Harris (John) of Lugoff; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Wilma Carroll of Cleveland, TN.

Gladys was predeceased by her son, Terry A. Payne; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

A funeral service was held at 4:00 PM, Friday, December 30, 2016 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel with Rev. Bill Dulaney and Rev. Jeff Grubbs officiating. The family  received friends at 3:00 PM, 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens in Columbia.
