Freddie L. Wilson, Sr., 88, of Camden passed away December 13, 2016.
He served in the Marine Corps during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #17 and the Marine League. Mr. Wilson was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Camden. He conducted services at Karesh Wing and was a chaplain with KershawHealth. He retired from DuPont and enjoyed bird-watching.
Surviving were his children, Sophia Wilson Ardis of Columbia, Freddie L. “Troy” Wilson (Stephanie) of Camden, Cindy Dinkins (Chet) of Sumter, and Gloria Hannah (Ronnie) of Canton, NC; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Thompson.
He was predeceased by a grandchild, Dawn Caulder; sister, Thelma Bullock; brothers, Herbert Wilson, Coleman Wilson, Woodrow Wilson, Mendel Wilson, and John Henry Wilson.
Funeral services were held Friday at 12:30 pm at Powers Funeral Home, with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, officiate by Reverend Sammie Geddings. The family received friends from 11am – 12:30pm at the Funeral Home.
