Myrtle Elizabeth “Libby” Estridge Pate was born May 04, 1938 in Bethune, SC, the daughter of  William Boldridge Estridge and Myrtle Horton Estridge.

Myrtle Elizabeth “Libby” Estridge Pate, 78, wife of Charles Britton Pate, Jr., died Tuesday, November 22, 2016.

Libby retired after 39 years as VP Director of Human Resources at First Palmetto Bank. She was a member of Lugoff First Baptist Church.

Libby was survived by her husband; son, Charles Britton Pate III (Pam); 2 grandsons, Andrew and Will Pate; and her sister, Loretta N. Horton (Jackie) of Camden.

Libby was predeceased by her bothers, Bobby Joe Newman, William B. Estridge, Jr and Robert Franklin Estridge.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Lugoff First Baptist Church. Rev. Doug Huntsinger and Rev. David Robinson officiated. Burial followed in Timrod Baptist Church Cemetery in Bethune. The family received friends at 1:00 PM, 1 hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bus or Sound System Fund, Lugoff First Baptist Church, 106 Longtown Road, Lugoff, SC 29078.
