Calvin Mathis Anderson was born September 29, 1919, in Cassatt, SC, the son of James Anderson and Maggie Ray Anderson.
Calvin Mathis Anderson, 90, of Cassatt, went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2009, after a lengthy illness.
He was a faithful member of Beaverdam Baptist Church and a dedicated Christian. Mr. Anderson lived his entire life in Cassatt, SC except for his time served in the US Army during WWII. He was a farmer and retired from Dupont.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise Robinson Anderson; a son, George (Dinah) Anderson of St. Mary’s, GA., a daughter, Elaine Roberts of Cassatt; grandchildren, Clay Anderson Kelli Payne, Jessica Watson, Timothy Anderson, Julie Watson, Cindy Blanchard, Mike Mims, Jr. and Matt Mims; 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Anderson; sister, Minnie Pearl, Ruth Jackson;
Brothers, Early Anderson, Ollie Anderson, Amos Anderson and Joe Anderson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Roy Smith, Kershaw Health Hospice and especially to Melinda Williams, Paige Jackson and Shanna Redfearn for their loving care to Mr. Anderson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 4:00 PM in Beaverdam Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Homer Hinson, Rev. Matt Mims, Rev, George Anderson and Rev. Steve Leigh officiated. The family received friends Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.
