Walter Ronald “Ronnie” Thompkins was born November 12, 1949 in Camden, SC, the son of Walter Harris Thompkins and Catherine Tolbert Thompkins.
Walter Ronald “Ronnie” Thompkins, 67, of Camden, SC, husband of Donna Hall Thompkins, died Monday, November 21, 2016.
He retired as the Precision Metal Work instructor for ATEC after 28 years. Ronnie was also owner and operator of Thompkins Farm, former Cub Scout leader and volunteer for Camp Kemo. He was an avid outdoorsman who, restored antique tractors and loved riding motorcycles and horses.
Besides his wife, Donna, Ronnie was survived by his son, Walt Thompkins (Kerry) of Camden; grandchildren, Rett and Hank Thompkins; special nephew, Chip Company (Pam); sisters, Miriam Thompkins Mays of Camden and Sandra Thompkins Staton (Alec) of Surfside Beach, SC; and a niece and 2 nephews.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
A graveside service was held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, November 25, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Joe Stines officiated. The family received friends at 10:30 AM, 1 ½ hours prior to the service at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.
