Joshua Michael Dawkins was born October 03, 1990 in Columbia, SC, the son of Jane Jackson Dawkins and father, Michael Darwin Dawkins, step mother, Lisa Dawkins.

Joshua was a 2009 Lugoff-Elgin graduate, and was on the wrestling team, football team and track. His studies were in sports medicine.

Joshua was survived by his parents; son, Tanner and daughter, Cypress Dawkins of the home; sister, Jessica Dawkins of West Columbia; and his girlfriend, Nikki Carraway of Lugoff.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Chaplain Clay Summers officiated. The family received friends at 1:00 PM, 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to SCDNR.
