Gracie Watkins CAMDEN –
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Gracie M. Nichols Watkins, 82, of Camden, SC, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at First Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Dulaney and Rev. John Hamilton will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, in the church Fellowship Hall. Gracie, widow of Jerry T. Watkins, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016. She was born in Camden, SC, the daughter of the late Woody Elmore and Susie J. DeBruhl. Gracie was also predeceased by her stepfather, Bill DeBruhl. Gracie was an accounting clerk for the Department of Social Services, the Criminal Justice Academy and Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department. She was a member of First Baptist Church, member of the Sunday school department and Seniors Choir.
Gracie is survived by her daughters, Julie Lee (Richard) of Bethune, SC, and Lynn Hutchins (Lee) of Camden, SC, Dale W. Holden (Wayne) of Hillsborough, NC; son, Gary Watkins (Cheryl) of Lexington, SC; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Billy DeBruhl (Doe) of Lugoff, SC; and her sister, Diane Davis of Columbia, SC. Gracie was predeceased by her brother, Jerry DeBruhl.
