CASSATT – Funeral service for Modene A. Barkley, 78, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Cassatt Baptist Church, 2604 Highway 1 North, Cassatt, SC 29032. The Rev. Dean Elliott will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary.

Mrs. Barkley passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016. Born in Polk County, FL, on October 31, 1937, she was the daughter of the late James T. Hodge and Edna Allene Nesbit Hodge.

Surviving are her daughters, Janet Catoe (Caldwell) of Camden, Marty Huggins (Jay) of Camden, and Marie Hightower (Davis) of Kershaw; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl L. Barkley; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
