Obituary of Marlene Ellzey
DENVER, CO – Marlene Jordan Ellzey, 66, passed away on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016, at St Joseph Hospital, in Denver, CO. She fought a long and difficult battle over the last two years, but thankfully is now reunited with her Jesus in heaven.
She was born to John Henry Jordan and Nina (Rose) Jordan in Columbia, S.C. on November 8th, 1949. She is survived by her daughter, Melony Ellzey; son, Tommy Ellzey; granddaughter; Payton Ellzey, who was the joy of her life; beloved pet, “Saddy”; brothers, Carlyse (Cindy), Larry (Patty), and Johnny (Linda); nieces and nephews, John, Amy, Bruce, Elizabeth, Chris and Jessica; and cousins, Deloris, Sandra, Janette and Wendy.
She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her dog Sadie, collecting Angels, and listening to Blake Shelton “cause he’s a good ‘ol southern boy, who don’t take nothing from nobody.” Most importantly, she just “wanted to be the best grandma anyone could ever have”….and she was. She was a strong independent woman, but also the sweetest of friends who was always willing to help those in need. She was loved and cherished, and will be missed immensely.
Graveside service will be on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Rose Cemetery in Elgin S.C.
