Margy Elizabeth Harrell was born August 27, 1924 in Blytheville, Ark., she was a daughter of the late John Allen Anderson Sr. and Cora Lee Glenn Anderson.

Margy Elizabeth Harrell, 90, of Elgin, wife of the late Walter A. Harrell Sr., passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015.

She retired from Lugoff-Elgin Middle School.

Mrs. Harrell was a member of Blaney Baptist Church and the 39ers Club. She enjoyed reading, fishing, going on cruises and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters, Betsy Ross (Alvin) of Elgin, and Jeanne Zissett (Billy) of Elgin; son, Walter Harrell Jr. (Debbie) of Camden; sisters, Sunny Simmons of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Fritzy Wicks of Dallas, Texas; brother, John Allen Anderson, Jr. of Batesville, Miss.; her dearest friend who was like a sister, Patsy Collier of Elgin; grandchildren, Lee, Missy, Tracy and Blake; great-grandchildren, Lelah, Bobby, Cory, Dani, Andrew, Kensy and Jonathan; and great-great-grandchildren, Nate and Bryson.

Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Blaney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Phillip Blankenship will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, 1400 Blaney Road, Elgin, SC 29045.
