Edith Carolyn Caughman, 93, of Columbia, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Born April 20, 1922 in Blaney, SC, she was a daughter of the late George Miles and Carrie Koon Miles. Edith worked at Bayview Baptist Church’s day care and was a member of Alpine Baptist Church.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Rodney, Mark, Alvin, Cheryl, Jeffrey and Debra Rabon, Lisa and Gene Dorn; seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Smith; sons, Lawrence and Charles W. Rabon; and her nine siblings.

The graveside service for Mrs. Caughman will be held 11 o’- clock Monday, June 22, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o’clock Sunday evening, June 21st, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
