Ida L. Obey was born in Blaney, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Gripper and Lizzie Counts Gripper.

Ida L. Obey, 90, of Elgin, passed away at home on Monday, June 1, 2015.

Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Gould of Elgin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Stanley Obey; 3 sisters, and 6 brothers.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Clark Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
