Purvis Willie Morgan was born Friday, January 31, 1947 in Columbia, he was the son of the late Curtis Willis Morgan and Ruth Branham Morgan.
Purvis Willie Morgan, 68, of Meldrim, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
He was an outdoorsman with a great sense of humor who had an incredible love for his family and friends.
Surviving were his son, Tony Morgan (Beth) of Elgin; brothers, J.C. Morgan of Elgin and Stephen “Rusty” Morgan (Robin) of Meldrim, Ga.; brother-in-law, Frank Wilson of West Columbia; and 2 grandchildren, Brittany Morgan and Katelyn Morgan.
He was predeceased by brother, Benny Morgan; and sister, Earline Wilson.
Funeral service was held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, Elgin with burial in Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Paul Miles and the Rev. Steve McCoy officiating. The family received friends on Friday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
