Blanche Owens Baskins Caulder was born May 9, 1931 in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Grover Walter Owens and Lucy Boykin Moore Owens.

Blanche Owens Baskins Caulder, 83, Cassatt, wife of the late Harmon Caulder, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014.

Mrs. Caulder was a member of The Lugoff Church of God. She was an evangelist who enjoyed reading the bible, writing songs, woodworking, and sewing.

Surviving were her sons, Joseph Baskins, Jr. (Patricia) of Irmo, David Baskins (Susan) of North Augusta; daughter, Diane Skinner (Mitch) of Bishopville; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph “Dent” Baskins, Sr.; son, Gary Baskins; and siblings, Grover, Harold, William, Burnette, and Stoney Owens, and Velma Goodman.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Baskins Family Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Cobb will officiate. The family received friends Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
