A memorial service to celebrate the life of Martin Huger Price, 85, of Camden, SC will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Beulah United Methodist Church in Camden. Pastor Pat Amick will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church following the service. Memorials may be made in his memory to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
Martin Huger Price, husband of Margie Stevens Price, died Saturday, June 22, 2013. He was born in Blaney, SC, on March 20, 1928, the son of the late Edward Martin Price and Sallie Branham Price. Mr. Price was a US Army WWII Pacific Theater Veteran and was a Korean Veteran. He was retired after 38 years with DuPont. He was a member of the American Legion Post 17, VFW 5928, The 40 & 8, Kershaw Lodge 29, Pontiac Lodge 429 A.F.M., Camden York Rite Bodies, Columbia Scottish Rite Bodies, The Royal Order of Scotland, past Patron of OES, Shrine Escort and a member of the Camden Shrine Club. He was a former Auxiliary Sheriff’s Deputy, a former volunteer EMT at Kershaw County Medical Center, and a former board member for the SC State Parks.
Besides his wife, Mr. Price is survived by his daughter, Wanda Price Rabon (Howard) of Lugoff and his son, Billy Martin Price; grandchildren, Melita Arnold of Camden, Howard B. Rabon III of Lugoff, Brittany Price Hayes of Rio Rancho, NM, and Gerri Deadon of Arkansas; 2 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob Arnold; sisters, Sallie P. Delvecchio of Columbia and Barbara P. Davis (Jimmy) of Camden; brother, Charles Price (Sue) of Lake Wateree.
Besides his parents, Mr. Price was predeceased by his brother, Billy D. Price.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
