Obituary of Irene B. Stockman
ELGIN – Funeral service for Irene B. Stockman, 91, will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Dan Griffin and the Rev. Chris Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 998 Tookie Doo Lane, Elgin, S.C. 29045.
Mrs. Stockman, wife of the late J.P. Stockman, died Friday, September 2, 2011. Born in Blythewood, she was a daughter of the late Allen Branham and Mary Abbott Branham. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing and embroidery.
Surviving are her daughters, Peggy Brown (Andrea “Boe”) of Elgin, Inez Rollins of Greenback, Tenn., and Pauline Freyer (Bob) of Elgin; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons-in-law, Joe Rollins and Ernie Moak; and 11 brothers and sisters.
