ELGIN – Funeral services celebrating the life of Pearl Wages Branham, 94, of Elgin, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Kenneth Jackson and Reverend John Corder will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel.
Mrs. Branham, widow of the the late Willie Henry Branham, died Saturday, January 1, 2011. Born in the English Community, she was the daughter of the late, Grafton Wages and Carrie Meetze Wages. She attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Surviving were 3 daughters, Dorothy Branham Barrett (Ray Barrett) and Nadine Branham Cox of Elgin and Yvonne Branham Franklin (James L. Franklin) of Kershaw; 2 sons, Alvin R. Branham (Rochella) and Willard K. Branham of Elgin; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. She was pre-deceased by a son, Roy Larry Branham and sisters, Lydia Wages and Katherine Hornsby and Thelma Martin.
