RIDGEWAY — Funeral services for Horace L. Moore, 85, will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Hayes- Branham Cemetery at Smyrna Methodist Church. Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, February 1, 2008, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to Springvale Baptist Church Building Fund, 1496 Springvale Road, Lugoff, SC 29078 or Southwinds Assisted Living, 308 Humphries Road, Ridgeway, SC 29130.
Mr. Moore died Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Born March 28, 1922, in Lugoff, he was the son of the late Leslie Moore and Kate Branham Moore. Mr. Moore was a salesman with Claussen’s Bread Company for 22 years and retired from S.C. Forestry Service. He was a member of Springvale Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law; Patricia and Leon Baker of Lugoff, Donna and Murray Andrews of Camden, Marlene Peake of Lugoff; son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Tammy Moore of Ridgeway; daughter-in-law, Martha Kelly Moore of Poquoson, Va.; sister, Willie Mae Rimer of Blythewood, Robin M. Willoughby of Lugoff, of whom Mr. Moore was guardian; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Moore was predeceased by his first wife, Lois Branham Moore and his second wife, Mary Oswalt Moore, a son, Michael Moore, sister, Rubie Poole, and brothers, Kenneth Moore and Julian Moore.
