Obituary of Marie H Cameron
LUGOFF – Funeral service for Marie Heath Cameron, 87, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Gerry Lord, Rev. Barbee Parsons, and Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cameron, wife of the late, John Thomas Cameron, died Monday, December 31, 2007. Born November 23, 1920 in Blaney, she was a daughter of the late John Gary Heath and Laura Cook Heath. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church where she was in the Rev. Bessie Parker Sunday School Class, the Julia Jones Circle, Golden Hearts and the Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading, walking, gardening, canning and making jelly. She was a loving mother and what she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Cameron (Donald) Branham of Lugoff, Carl E. (Libby) Cameron of Lugoff, Betty Cameron (Mike) Reynolds of Lugoff, Leland H. Cameron of Lugoff, and Carla Cameron (Danny) Watson of Lugoff; sisters, Allene Dabbs and Irene Anderson, both of Columbia; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sisters, Mable H. Higgins, Inez H. Brown, and Nellie H. Strickland; grandson, Christopher Matthew Cameron; and a daughter-in-law, Deborah McCaskill Cameron.
